An Air India Express flight from Dubai has crash landed at Calicut Airport after overshooting the runway in heavy rain, killing two.
Local TV channels say the fuselage of the Boeing-737 broke in to two pieces on impact. A spokesman for Air India said several passengers were injured.
At least five people have died, including the pilot, according to reports, with dozens injured.
“We believe there are two people dead, and 35 injured, we are still in the middle of the rescue effort,” area police superintendent Abdul Karim said.
