The national Alcohol and Drug Foundation says a new study shows alcohol intake increased significantly for many parents during coronavirus lockdown — especially those with primary school aged children.
The foundation has surveyed 1,000 parents across Australia during the lockdown period in every state and territory.
Chief executive Erin Lalor said parents identified the stress of home schooling as a major factor and that 29 per cent of parents surveyed drank more alcohol because of it.
