Palestinian girl dragged from rubble is still traumatized

RT published this video item, entitled “Palestinian girl dragged from rubble is still traumatized” – below is their description.

A seven-year-old girl who was filmed being dragged from the rubble of her family home on Sunday is still traumatized.

Suzy Ishkontana barely speaks or eats since the building was flattened by Israeli airstrikes and she spent hours buried in the wreckage, with her siblings and mother dying next to her.

Her father, Riad Ishkontana, told the Associated Press that he was buried for five hours, pinned down by a chunk of concrete and unable to reach his wife and five children.

He and Suzy were the only ones to survive. Hospital staff and his family kept the truth from him as long as they could.

‘I learned about their deaths one after another,’ he said.

Pediatrician D. Zuhair Al-Jaro said Suzy, whose physical injuries were superficial, was in ‘severe trauma and shock’ but that psychological treatment was impossible due to the ongoing violence.

According to Gaza health officials, at least 63 children are among the 219 Palestinians killed in Gaza since the latest fighting between Israel and Hamas began on May 10.

In Israel, 12 people have been killed by Hamas rockets, including a five-year-old boy.
