BBC News published this video item, entitled “Oxford vaccine up to 90% effective and costs just £3 per dose – BBC News” – below is their description.
A vaccine developed by scientists at the University of Oxford appears set to transform the battle against coronavirus across the globe. In initial trials the vaccine gave 70% protection against Covid but that could rise to as high as 90% by adjusting the dose. The UK government has already ordered 100 million doses of the vaccine. While other vaccines have reported even higher protection the Oxford one is far cheaper – at around £3 per dose – and far easier to store, which is crucial for delivering it quickly and effectively around the world. Huw Edwards presents BBC News at Ten reporting by medical editor Fergus Walsh.
