Sri Lanka’s embattled President Gotabaya Rajapaksa arrived in Singapore on July 14, 2022, from the Maldives, after fleeing his own country amid mass protests demanding his resignation. Singapore’s foreign ministry said Rajapaksa was “allowed entry into Singapore on a private visit”.
