Oregon: Why is there an armed stand off ? BBC News

There’s a big stand off underway in the US State of Oregon — and both sides are heavily armed. Federal law enforcement officials are trying to bring a peaceful end to the occupation. Following a rally in the town of Burns in support of two ranchers – a father and son – jailed for lighting fires on federal land, about 100 armed protesters occupied the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Reserve. This is the background on the militiamen and the stand off.
