7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Optus data involved in cyber attack, Optus boss Kelly Bayer Rosmarin holds a zoom call with media” – below is their description.
The boss of Optus says she is working with government agencies and cyber experts after more than 9 million customers had their personal details stolen in the biggest cyber attack that Australia has ever seen.
Optus says there has been no ransomware demand and it is still too early to tell if it was coordinated by criminals or state-based actors. Hackers accessed the names, dates of birth, addresses and phone numbers of customers.
“I am disappointed that we couldn’t have prevented it. I’m disappointed that this undermines all the hard work we have been doing…I am very sorry and apologetic. It should not have happened”, Kelly Bayer Rosmarin, Optus CEO.
