China and Pakistan held a joint opening ceremony for the newly constructed Gwadar Eastbay Expressway on June 3. The Gwadar Eastbay Expressway is 19.4 kilometers long and connects the Gwadar port to Pakistan’s No.10 National Highway. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made a speech at the ceremony in which he thanked China for its assistance and the hard work of Chinese constructors.
