At least 12 peaceful protestors were killed yesterday in #Nigeria according to Amnesty International, as authorities open fired on the crowd. Since it first began earlier this month, the #EndSARS movement has swep the entire country as many people hit the streets to protests against #police brutality in Nigeria. The movement was met with harsh crackdown from Nigerian authorities. The open fire last night marked a new height of violence coming from the state. As the state holds on to its hard stance, what’s next for the movement? Many in the country are beginig to doubt if the authorities are really willing to change, according to Seun Bakare, programmes manager of Amnesty International Nigeria.
