7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Opal card gates to be left open by striking Sydney railway union staff | 7NEWS” – below is their description.
Sydney commuters are set to enjoy weeks of free travel right across the rail network starting from tomorrow.
Beginning tomorrow, rail staff will leave open the Opal Card ticket gates.
Transport for NSW says passengers can still tap on and tap off their Opal Cards. Transit officers are currently involved in month-long industrial action, so they won’t be handing-out fines.
Union leader Alex Claassens says the two parties are still divided over demands to modify new intercity trains the unions say are unsafe.
