Ontario Premier Doug Ford unveils new cabinet after 2nd election victory | LIVE

Global News published this video item, entitled “Ontario Premier Doug Ford unveils new cabinet after 2nd election victory | LIVE” – below is their description.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is set to reveal his new cabinet on Friday, just two weeks after his Progressive Conservative party won a resounding victory in the provincial election on June 2, returning to Queen’s Park with more MPPs than in 2018.

The Tories won 83 of the legislature’s 124 seats, providing Ford with dozens of potential cabinet picks.

His previous cabinet had 28 people, but there are questions about whether he may name an even bigger executive council. There will be some missing at the table, however, after former deputy premier and health minister Christine Elliott, former long-term care minister Rod Phillips and former parks minister Jeff Yurek each decided not to run for re-election.

Observers are also keen to see how Ford brings in regional representation, especially from Windsor and Hamilton, where the PCs won seats that had long been held by the New Democrats.
