South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “One-armed Japanese woman rediscovers passion for violin with prosthetic” – below is their description.
Japanese violinist Manami Ito admits she didn’t know what she had until it was gone. She started playing the instrument at age seven, but recalls never falling in love with playing or the lessons and practising. Nevertheless, she kept at it until the age of 20 when she lost her right arm in a traffic accident. She was surprised to find that the traumatic event was a motivation to overcome her disability and pick up the violin again. With the help of a prosthetic, she went on to become a professional musician after discovering a passion for the stringed instrument that had long eluded her. Support us: https://subscribe.scmp.com
