Oil prices take toll on Venezuela’s struggling economy

Venezuela has the highest proven reserves of oil, but it also has one of the world’s worst performing economies.

As oil exporting countries meet in Qatar this weekend, Venezuelan delegates are hoping for a rise in oil prices to boost the government budget.

Venezuelans are standing in long queues for food and suffering daily power cuts. Al Jazeera’s Virginia Lopez reports from Bacha-quero.
