Police have released bodycam footage of a police officer running to save a man in a wheelchair stuck on train tracks with a train speeding towards him.
Officer Erika Urrea of the Lodi Police Department in California was patrolling Lodi Avenue near the railroad tracks around 8:44am when she spotted the man on the tracks.
She immediately exited the vehicle to save the 66-year-old man with seconds to spare.
The man, only identified by his age, suffered a leg injury and was taken a nearby hospital.
The LPD said of the event: “Officer Urrea risked her own life to save another and her actions prevented a tragedy today. We are extremely proud of Officer Erika Urrea and her heroism.”
