Boris Johnson refused to be drawn on the row over – and criminal investigation into – alleged parties at Downing Street at Prime Minister’s Questions this lunchtime.

He said that the ministerial code, which says ministers who knowingly mislead Parliament should resign, does apply to him.

Mr Johnson fielded from Sir Keir Starmer, the Labour leader, amid uncertainty about when Sue Gray’s own report into events at Downing Street will be published.
