NSW’s roadmap to freedom after lockdown has finally been released by the premier | 7NEWS

7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “NSW’s roadmap to freedom after lockdown has finally been released by the premier | 7NEWS” – below is their description.

The long awaited roadmap to freedom has finally been released by the NSW premier revealing when lockdown will ease with everything from pubs to clubs, retail stores, weddings and gyms back in business.

‘Freedom Day’ will be on the Monday after NSW reaches 70 percent fully vaccinated. On current projections, the NSW Government is hoping that will be on October 18th. But, that could be pushed back if we miss the target.

7NEWS understands that Crisis Cabinet was not presented with any modelling about the consequences of opening up before making its decision, and the NSW Chief Health Officer has serious concerns.

Leaked advice from Dr Kerry Chant reveals she raised the prospect of an Israel or UK scenario playing-out here. Both had an explosion in cases and rising death when they reopened.

7NEWS has been told she didn’t oppose today’s ‘freedom plan,’ but fears the vaccination push could lose momentum if restrictions are eased too quickly urging the government to be cautious, and keep some measures in place until we reach 85 percent mark.
