Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has returned from Europe and is touring the NSW flood disaster zone with NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet. Prime Minister Albanese was at the state emergency headquarters early where he was updated on current evacuation orders and warnings.

The PM and premier surveyed, from the air, the significant damage in the Hawkesbury region. They flew over hard-hit suburbs like Windsor, which are still under water, and will be for days. Soon, they will visit local charity Hawkesbury Helping Hands who provide food and supplies to flood victims. Both leaders conceded lessons had been learned from previous disasters and they praised the work of emergency services and the defence force. The prime minister confirmed another 150 troops would be made available from today.
