New South Wales has seen a “huge increase” in COVID cases with another 633 infections recorded from more than 103,000 tests in the last 24-hour period. Just 158 are linked to a known case or cluster, including 145 household contacts and 13 close contacts, while the source of infection for the remaining 475 cases is under investigation. At least 92 cases were circulating in the community for all or part of their infectious period and the isolation status of 447 remains under investigation. “At the moment, according to the data we have, every person who has the virus is spreading it to at least more than one person,” Premier Gladys Berejiklian told reporters on Wednesday.
