A lightning quick vaccine uptake has NSW on track to emerge from lockdown sooner than hoped. There were nearly 150,000 shots in the past day with expectations single dose vaccinations will hit 70 per cent in the coming days.

It means restrictions could start to lift from the middle of October. It follows another 1,116 coronavirus cases overnight, and 4 more deaths.
