Sister Anne Gardiner may be the oldest person on the Tiwi Islands in the NT. For her 90th birthday a committee arranged a day of celebrations attended by hundreds of community members.

The 2017 Senior Australian of the year has spent more than 60 years on Bathurst Island.

The former teacher and Principal has been working with the community to preserve their culture. She spoke with The Drum’s Stephanie Boltje.
