Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has said NATO allies need to work together to defend energy infrastructure. Speaking to DW about potential threats to the 9000 kilometres of pipelines in Norwegian territory, he said: “This issue about safeguarding infrastructure is also a NATO issue. So we will propose to our NATO allies that this is something we should look into to coordinate our efforts because critical infrastructure is key to security.” He also commented on criticisms that Norway has profited from high energy prices as a result of the war.

Støre has been attending the Berlin Security Conference and meeting German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
