The first batch of 200,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine arrived in North Macedonia on Friday.
The country’s Health Minister Venko Filipce and Chinese Ambassador to North Macedonia Zhang Zuo attended the welcoming ceremony. Filipce expressed gratitude for China’s help, noting that the 200,000 doses make up the largest batch of COVID-19 vaccines the country has received.
These vaccines will be used to expand the country’s massive vaccination project, which started on February 17.

North Macedonia (Macedonia until February 2019), officially the Republic of North Macedonia, is a country in Southeast Europe. It gained independence in 1991 as one of the successor states of Yugoslavia. It constitutes approximately the northern third of the larger geographical region of Macedonia.
