North Koreans flocked to Munsu Water Park in Pyongyang to escape the summer heat, one day after leader Kim Jong-un declared victory over Covid-19, state media reported on August 11, 2022. The video, provided by Pyongyang’s official news agency KCNA, could not be independently verified. Kim’s declaration came despite no known vaccine programme implemented in the country, which said it relied on lockdowns and domestically produced medicines.
