North Korea reveal train-based ballistic missile system

The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “North Korea reveal train-based ballistic missile system” – below is their description.

North Korea has reported that they successfully launched ballistic missiles from a train for the first time on Wednesday.

It comes as North and South Korea test-fired missiles hours apart in duelling displays of military might.

The move highlights a return of tensions between the rivals amid a prolonged stalemate in U.S.-led talks aimed at stripping North Korea of its nuclear weapons programme.

Pyongyang’s official Korean Central News Agency said the missiles were launched during a drill that saw the rockets transported along rail tracks in the country’s mountainous central region.

State television already reports that the rockets accurately struck a sea target 500 miles away.

A nuclear weapon (also called an atom bomb, nuke, atomic bomb, nuclear warhead, A-bomb, or nuclear bomb) is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission (fission bomb) or from a combination of fission and fusion reactions (thermonuclear bomb). Both bomb types release large quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter.

A nuclear device no larger than traditional bombs can devastate an entire city by blast, fire, and radiation. Since they are weapons of mass destruction, the proliferation of nuclear weapons is a focus of international relations policy.
