No crowds at Weston-super-Mare beach over the bank holiday as residents keep to lockdown guidelines

Residents of Weston-super-Mare are keeping to the lockdown guidelines and steering clear of the beach this bank holiday. Revellers who did venture down to the seafront were seen strictly adhering to social distancing protocol.

Number 10 has reminded the public to adhere to social distancing rules ‘if they are leaving the house’ over the bank holiday weekend.

In a series of tweets sent from the 10 Downing Street Twitter page, Number 10 reminded followers to “keep going” with social distancing rules and to maintain a two metre distance when travelling in public spaces.

The Prime Minister has also warned the public not to get complacent. Boris Johnson tweeted on Saturday: “Thank you for all you are doing to protect our NHS and save lives. This bank holiday weekend, please stay at home, so we don’t undo everything that’s been done so far.”
