    Chile is experiencing an explosion of coronavirus cases despite an extensive vaccination scheme and scientists are pointing the finger at a mutation called C-37.

    It has spread to other countries in Latin America, where deaths are rising sharply and as far away as the United States and parts of Europe.

    Chile, officially the Republic of Chile, is a country in western South America. It occupies a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.
