NDP “prepared to fight an election” if necessary, Singh says

Global News published this video item, entitled “NDP “prepared to fight an election” if necessary, Singh says” – below is their description.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh on Friday said his party is “absolutely prepared to fight an election,” but added that it is not his goal to force an election as the country continues to deal with a rising number of COVID-19 cases. He said the government needs to provide immediate health and financial supports “before an election is considered.” Asked if he would consider forming a coalition government should the Liberal throne speech not get support of opposition parties, Singh said he would “explore all options” to avoid an election. However, the NDP leader said he “would not walk down a path where there’s a suggestion of austerity” or cutting help needed by Canadians.
