Native American groups fight to stop sacred land becoming a copper mine | The Drum

ABC News (Australia) published this video item, entitled “Native American groups fight to stop sacred land becoming a copper mine | The Drum” – below is their description.

When Rio Tinto blew up the 40,000-year-old Juukan Caves last year, the company promised it would never be repeated.

The blast, intended to make way for an iron ore mine, led to the resignation of three senior executives.

But five months on, that promise from Rio appears to have been forgotten.

Native American groups in the United States are fighting to save a sacred site in the deserts of Arizona for a giant copper mine.
