Global News published this video item, entitled “NACI postpones updating AstraZeneca vaccine guidelines, causing more confusion among Canadians” – below is their description.
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) postponed unveiling new guidance on the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine mere minutes before the briefing was set to begin.
Both Ontario and Alberta say they will be administering AstraZeneca shots to people age 40 and over, despite the country’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) recommendation to not give the vaccine to those under 55.
The vaccine has been linked to extremely rare cases of blood clots.
Mike Le Couteur looks at what may have delayed the announcement.
