FRANCE 24 English published this video item, entitled “Myanmar’s military coup: Pro-democracy protests continue depsite bloody crackdown” – below is their description.
Myanmar is reeling after its bloodiest day yet in the wake of the latest military coup. But what will this mean going forward for the people who still take to the streets to call for the reinstatement of civilian rule? At least 18 killed in the bloodiest day yet. A day later the people are still protesting. The people are still resisting inspite of the fact the army is willing to fire live bullets at them in the capital city of Yangon.
Meanwhile Aung San Suu Kyu, the de facto president, arrested by the military on February 1st, for alleged rigging of the election in November that she won by a landslide, appeared in court again via video link. She still has not been seen publicly since her arrrest.
