A Myanmar nun kneeled before police officers in the city of Myitkyina on Monday, to ask security forces to refrain from violence against children and residents.
Sister Ann Rose Nu Tawng said “I begged them not to shoot the children because I am worried about people in the hospital nearby and residents”.
Two protesters died of gunshot wounds to the head in Myitkyina on Monday, witnesses said.
