South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “Myanmar anti-coup protesters plan their largest mass rally yet after deadly clash with military” – below is their description.
Thousands of protesters turned out in streets across Myanmar on February 21, 2021, the day after the bloodiest episode so far in their anti-coup campaign. On February 20, security forces opened fire on protesters in the city of Mandalay, killing at least two and wounding dozens, according to witnesses. Demonstrators have called for their largest mass rally yet on February 22, 2021. Despite a promise of new elections and stern warnings against dissent, the military has been unable to quell demonstrations and a civil disobedience campaign of strikes against the February 1 coup which included the detention of elected leader Aung San Suu Kyi.
