Muslims worldwide have begun celebrating the Eid al-Adha festival, with measures to protect against transmission of Covid-19.

Afghanistan is marking the event with a three-day ceasefire between the Taliban and government forces. However, the truce was nearly derailed when a car bomb exploded in the country’s east, killing dozens of people.
