During the COVID-19 outbreak, “Icon” has been interviewing guests via a remote link. In this episode, we have an exclusive interview with world-renowned conductor Tsung Yeh and horn master Xiaoming Han. Yeh is currently the music director of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and laureate conductor of the South Bay Symphony Orchestra in Indiana, U.S. The Shanghai-born Tsung Yeh was the first conductor in history to achieve an East-West crossover when he served concurrently as music director of both a symphony orchestra and a Chinese orchestra. Xiaoming Han is the principal horn of the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra (from 1985 to the present). In 2011, he was named one of the top ten outstanding Chinese artists in Europe. He is also the founder of the World Chinese Festival Orchestra and a co-founder of the orchestra of the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing. In this episode, the two world-famous musicians recount their daily routine during the epidemic, telling Icon’s Ji Xiaojun how they have coped with performances being canceled, and how they are surviving the crisis. Both will also present Icon viewers with a unique solo performance.
