M&S to cut 7,000 jobs after pandemic leads to slump in sales – BBC News

Marks and Spencer is planning to cut 7,000 jobs by the end of the year, after a slump in sales due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The cuts come on top of 950 job losses the company had already announced and amount to about 10% of its workforce.

M&S is the latest business to announce major job losses as the UK enters the worst recession of any developed country.
