Mother of Colten Boushie responds to RCMP watchdog findings

Global News published this video item, entitled “Mother of Colten Boushie responds to RCMP watchdog findings” – below is their description.

Colten Boushie’s mother, Debbie Baptiste, said on Monday she and her family have never stopped fighting for justice and according to the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission, she deserved better treatment than she received from police the day she was told of her son’s death.

On the day of his death, officers went to Baptiste’s home to inform her. The family claims she was mistreated but an internal investigation cleared the officers. Now, the independent report is siding with the family.

As Ryan Kessler reports, Baptiste says she’s fighting to spare other Indigenous families from the injustice she has suffered.
