Director of Mortgages at UK Finance, Charles Roe, told Kay Burley that “there’s certainly no shortage of mortgages available” – and said there are more on offer now than there was at the start of 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

His comment came as around half of UK mortgage providers suspended their offer of home loan buying products and hiked rates as a result of the “volatile” market.
