The Moroccan government has denied reports it targeted thousands of phone numbers for potential #hacking, and has threatened legal action against the #media organisations behind the claims. French President Emmanuel #Macron has chaired an urgent national security meeting for Thursday to discuss the Israeli-made Pegasus spyware.

The meeting comes amid reports of foreign entities — including #Morocco, having allegedly used the tool to target the cellular devices of French ministers. A phone number assigned to French President Emmanuel Macron also appeared on a list of reported targets of the spyware.
