More Asian countries restrict movements

Many Asian countries have increased restrictions on movement. Pakistan now has 519 confirmed cases and its national airline has halted international flights for the next week. The government says 34 trains will also stop running. In Thailand, Bangkok’s governor ordered the closure of all shopping malls, boxing stadiums, beauty salons, and arcades. Jordan is imposing a nationwide round-the-clock curfew, restricting movement except for emergencies and essential services, enforced by the military.

Pakistan has a 1,046-kilometre (650-mile) coastline along the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman in the south and is bordered by India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, Iran to the southwest, and China to the northeast. It is separated narrowly from Tajikistan by Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor in the northwest, and also shares a maritime border with Oman.
