Monarch butterflies return to Mexico

Monarch butterflies are making a comeback in the state of Michoacan, Mexico.

The number of butterflies, which for the last 20 years have been consistently decreasing, tripled in 2015 compared to the previous season.

This increase comes after Canada, the US and Mexico agreed on protecting the species.

Al Jazeera’s John Holman reports from El Rosario butterfly sanctuary in Mexico.
