China’s Foreign Ministry declared on Sunday that China is ready to provide every possible form of support and assistance to Tonga after it was hit by successive volcanic eruptions and ensuing tsunami waves.

Meanwhile, according to Zhang Xuanbo, an employee at the Chinese Embassy in Tonga, several minor injuries but no fatalities of Chinese citizens have been reported on Tongatapu, the main island in Tonga.
