Firefighters worked into the night to contain a blaze more than 28,000 acres large in California’s Fresno County on July 20, the seventh day the blaze had been burning.
The Mineral Fire broke out on July 13 and was reported to be 28,500 acres on July 20 by Fresno County Fire. The fire was around 60 percent contained and was expected to be fully contained by July 24.
Video posted to Instagram by Santa Barbara County Fire shows firefighters using containment techniques in order to stop the spread of the main fire.
CAL FIRE reported difficulty containing the fire, as it scorched an area that was hard to reach and said the blaze was exhibiting extreme fire behavior such as rapid uphill and wind-driven runs.
