Michigan judge reprimands “idiot” who entered virtual arraignment under profane display name

Global News published this video item, entitled “Michigan judge reprimands “idiot” who entered virtual arraignment under profane display name” – below is their description.

A judge in Michigan was not entertained when a man joined a live Zoom arraignment on May 11 under a profane name. St. Joseph County District Court Chief Judge Jeffrey Middleton was presiding over a virtual arraignment on Tuesday when a man joined the call with the name “Buttf***er3000.”

The judge asked the man for his name, which he gave as Nathaniel Saxton.

Middleton pressed, “Your name’s not Butt f***er 3000? … What kind of idiot logs into court like that? What’s your name again?”

Saxton denied typing “anything like that” and tried to apologize to the court. Before moving onto the next case, Middleton said, “I’m going to put you in the waiting room. You can sit in limbo for a while and think about what you call yourself online.”
