Daily Mail published this video item, entitled “Merck Company completes trial for Covid-19 pill” – below is their description.

The European Union’s drug regulator is beginning to review Merck’s antiviral COVID-19 drug, taken as a pill. The drug has been called a potential ‘game-changer’ for the pandemic as the first Covid treatment that wouldn’t require needles or IV infusions. A clinical trial found that the pill halves the risk of Covid hospitalization and death for high-risk patients. The European agency’s review follows recent large orders of Merck’s pill, including France’s purchase of 50,000 doses. Merck applied for authorization at the US FDA earlier in October – and will provide the country with over one million doses if the drug is approved.
