World Health Organization (WHO) published this video item, entitled “Mental health in Ukraine: Mobile teams support mental health amidst conflict and COVID-19” – below is their description.
The COVID-19 pandemic combined with protracted conflict have had a devastating impact on Ukrainians with severe mental health conditions. These coinciding events have further limited access to specialized care. In response, WHO reinforced its support of community-based mental health care in Ukraine as a part of the WHO Special Initiative for Mental Health. Seven community teams are now working across Ukraine amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, including a traveling team based in Slovyansk consisting of a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a nurse and a social worker.
