Media ‘mob mentality’ attacked by Tory election mastermind Sir Lynton Crosby

Sir Lynton Crosby has blamed the media for stoking up a “mob mentality” around issues like Dominic Cummings’ trip, Black Lives Matter and the #metoo movement.

The Conservative election strategist – behind many victories – warned the coverage of these matters “alienates many, many voters”.

He said journalists often increase the intensity of a particular debate when they would be better off sticking to the facts.

Dominic Mckenzie Cummings is a British political strategist who has served as senior adviser to Prime Minister Boris Johnson since July 2019. Before this he was head of the Vote Leave campaign for the 2016 Referendum on the UK’s EU Membership, commonly known as the Brexit referendum.

During the 2020 novel coronavirus pandemic, Cummings became mired in controversy after driving from London to County Durham with suspected Covid-19, while the nation was locked down, before making another trip to Barnard Castle on the Easter weekend.
