The Isle of Wight will lead the UK in trialling a new app designed to help authorities keep on top of coronavirus cases, ahead of starting to lift the lockdown.
Announcing the pilot during today’s Downing Street press conference, Matt Hancock said participation would help the whole country “get back on its feet”.
But the Health Secretary stressed this was not an alternative to social distancing, saying the “stay home” message now had an additional plea to download the app.
