Petrol stations across Britain have run dry after an acute shortage of truck drivers strained supply chains to breaking point. Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic have seen a lack of workers in parts of the world’s fifth-largest economy, sparking panic buying, drivers hoarding fuel, and even fights at petrol pumps. Europe correspondent Steve Cannane tells The World the situation hasn’t improved in the last few days.
