Police are investigating a shooting in Guildford overnight, where a 27-year-old man, known to officers, suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police Statement: “Inquiries have commenced following a shooting in Sydney’s west tonight. About 9.40pm (Monday 7 June 2021), a 27-year-old man attended Westmead Hospital suffering a gunshot wound to his neck. He remains in a serious condition. Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were notified, and inquiries led officers to a home on Woodstock Street, Guildford. Officers spoke with a number of people inside the home and found a vehicle parked in the driveway with a number of bullet holes. A crime scene has now been established at that address. As inquiries continued, police were called to Bennett Road, South Granville, where a vehicle was located burnout. A second crime scene has been established as Cumberland detectives and forensic officers commence inquiries. It’s not yet known if the two incidents are connected. Police believe this was a targeted attack. Inquiries continue.”
