CCTV footage of a man believed to be Ali Harbi Ali walking in North London on the morning of the attack has emerged emerged.

The footage, obtained by Sky News, shows Mr Ali dressed in a green parka jacket, carrying a backpack over his right shoulder.

Ali Harbi Ali is the man suspected of murdering Sir David Amess at Belfairs Methodist Church.

Mr Ali, who lived in Kentish Town, in North London, travelled to Leigh-on-Sea by train to carry out what is now being seen as a deliberate attack on the British state.

Sir David Anthony Andrew Amess MP was a British politician who served as Member of Parliament for Southend West from 1997 until his killing in 2021. He previously served as MP for Basildon from 1983 to 1997. He was a member of the Conservative Party. He was born and grew up in Essex.

On October 15 2021, Amess was fatally stabbed at a constituency surgery in Leigh-on-Sea in Essex, UK. A 25 year old suspect was detained at the scene.
